From the incomparable wit of Noel Coward, 鈥淓asy Virtue鈥 is a breezy, wonderful splash of comedy as a young Englishman marries a glamorous, modern young woman and brings her home to meet his parents. Sparks fly as his new bride, Larita, arrives like a jolt from the future to celebrate a woman鈥檚 right to lead her own life. Originally produced when Coward was riding a wave of success, 鈥淓asy Virtue鈥 has enjoyed many successful revivals over the years and is a perfect summer ride in celebration of the individual spirit. FAU鈥檚 production is directed by Jean Louis Baldet.
鈥淐abaret,鈥 the winner of multiple Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Best Revival, is a raucous musical that comes roaring to life in the infamous Kit Kat Klub where some of Broadway鈥檚 most memorable songs spill out onto the stage. While the emcee promises to help us forget all our troubles, Germany begins its descent into hell and we are reminded what happens when we bury our heads in the sand and forget to love our neighbors. Lee Soroko is the director.
The big band concert features the 红玫瑰社区 Wind Symphony Jazz Orchestra, a professional ensemble-in-residence at FAU. The band will present an evening of hits from the 30s, 40s and 50s, including authentic music of big band sensations like Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller and Benny Goodman.
聽鈥淔estival Rep,鈥 now in its聽 21st year, will once again feature professional equity actors working alongside FAU鈥檚 finest graduate students in their last production before they graduate and enter the world of professional theater. For more information on Festival Rep, visit .-FAU-
