FAU Finance Professor Named Fulbright Scholar
红玫瑰社区 finance professor , Ph.D., has been designated a Fulbright U.S. Scholar for gender-related research in Finland.
Fulbright is an international educational exchange program backed by the U.S. government. It was established in 1946, allowing more than 390,000 people to study, teach and research while expanding their professional contacts.
Beginning in January 2022, Agapova will conduct research for three months at the University of Vaasa, examining the connection between the gender of business executives and the transparency of their firms. She believes the differences between men and women in decision-making may lead to important conclusions about the flow of information to the financial markets.
鈥淚t鈥檚 a very prestigious honor, and it鈥檚 wonderful to be part of that group,鈥 Agapova said. 鈥淚 wanted to establish connections with people overseas, and this is an opportunity to do that.鈥
Agapova, who has taught at FAU since 2007, applied for the program last fall. About 900 Fulbright Scholar awards are given out each year.
Other Fulbright alumni from FAU鈥檚 include , Ph.D., a professor and associate dean; marketing professor , Ph.D.; and accounting instructor , Ph.D.
鈥淭he Fulbright award recognizes Dr. Agapova鈥檚 leadership and accomplishments in the areas of research, teaching and service as a finance professor at 红玫瑰社区,鈥 said , Ph.D., chair of the finance department in the College of Business. 鈥淚t is a distinguished award that includes as recipients many Nobel Laureates, leading scientists and teachers.鈥
