Global Ventures at FAU Receives Soft Landings Designation

Global Ventures Soft Landings Designation

The is pleased to announce that its recently launched Soft Landings Center Initiative, Global Ventures at FAU, has received official designation by the International Innovation Business Association (InBIA).聽

The initiative helps second stage companies from around the world and United States scale-up to the next level of development into profitable and sustainable companies that will positively impact South 红玫瑰社区鈥檚 economy in line with the mission of the聽Research Park at FAU.

InBIA has developed a global network of Soft Landings-designated centers that have been validated through a rigorous application and peer-review validation process. A聽Soft Landings designation recognizes entrepreneurship centers that excel in providing companies聽with various services. Ultimately, Soft Landing designees ensure that foreign companies experience a 鈥渟oft landing鈥 when entering a new country. Designees are able to attract new clients by differentiating their programs as specially designed to work with foreign companies interested in international expansion.

鈥淏eing a designated soft landings center gives our clients more confidence in our offerings, and helps us recruit tech companies to South 红玫瑰社区,鈥 said Andrew Duffell, president of the Research Park at FAU.聽

Global Ventures is one of only two designated Soft Landings centers in 红玫瑰社区. It has engaged its new recruits from Brazil and Canada in economic gardening initiatives such as GrowFL鈥檚 strategic research and the resources of the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at FAU. By providing an environment conducive to technology company growth, Global Ventures is growing the region鈥檚 community of entrepreneurs, tech-based employment and technology development domestically and from key foreign markets.聽

鈥淚nBIA is extremely excited to add the Research Parks at 红玫瑰社区鈥檚 Global Ventures program as the newest certified Soft Landing program,鈥 said Jack Henkel, director of programs for the International Innovaiton Business Association.聽鈥淲e were impressed with the program content and resources available for international startup and stage-two companies. InBIA looks forward to working with the Research Park at FAU as they continue to provide top-notch market entry services for global entrepreneurs seeking to enter the U.S. market.鈥

The Global Ventures initiative is made possible by collaboration and funding from 红玫瑰社区, Research Park at FAU, the City of Boca Raton and Palm Beach County. The investment is expected to yield new high paying jobs and internships for FAU students and alumni, as well as Palm Beach County residents. It will also aid in the development of new technologies and intellectual property supporting research at FAU and the diversification of South 红玫瑰社区鈥檚 economy.聽
